Other Board Members

Henry Gerson, M.D. is an Attending Psychiatrist on the Behavioral Sciences Unit at Cayuga Medical Center and is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Previously he was an Attending Psychiatrist at New York’s Bellevue Hospital and served as a clinical instructor in Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine.

Robert Mendola, M.D. is affiliated with Gannett Health Center, Tompkins County Mental Health Center and Cayuga Medical Center. He is on staff at Family and Children's Services and at The Beechtree and Oak Hill Manor nursing homes. His interests include community mental health and geriatric psychiatry.

Jean Poland is a retired science librarian and academic library administrator. In addition to her work for Compos Mentis, Jean is active in the Finger Lakes chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, an organization that provides support to family members of people with mental illness.

Marvin Pritts, Ph.D. is Chair of the Department of Horticulture at Cornell University as well as a member of the board of directors of the Cayuga Nature Center.

Winthrop (Pete) Wetherbee, Ph.D. is a retired Professor of Medieval Literature. He has been working with inmates at Auburn Correction Facility, coordinating a program which offers Cornell courses for credit.

Paula Winner, C.S.W. is a Clinical Social Worker who has worked at Family & Children’s Services in Ithaca. She is currently completing coursework in Parent Coaching.
